Mexico City, August 27, 2018.- On August 25 Laboratorios Liomont gathered more than 500 employees and partners in the facilities of what will be its new production plant, located in the municipality of Ocoyoacan, State of Mexico, to carry out its eighth reforestation campaign in which 1,500 trees were planted.

Liomont is a laboratory with a high sense of social responsibility, concerned and occupied by the welfare of society, its employees and the environment. For eight years, it has carried out an annual reforestation campaign involving employees of the pharmaceutical industry. .

The first seven occasions the reforestation was carried out in the foothills of the Nevado de Toluca, but this time, it took place in what will be its new production plant and was part of the commemorative activities of its 80th anniversary.

“The opening of these facilities is a dream come true, which began with Samuel Rimoch decades ago and is the product of the perseverance, work and dedication of each of the employees who are part of the company,” said engineer Alfredo Rimoch, general director of Liomont Laboratories.

At the end of this year, the pharmaceutical company will open its second production plant in the industrial park of Ocoyoacac, State of Mexico, an installation built on an area of ​​160 thousand square meters that will be dedicated to the production of medicines.

Eduardo Fájer, director of human resources of Liomont, said that “in the company it is a priority to promote an ecological culture so the reforestation campaign has become a priority activity for workers and in which also coexist and promote a culture of companionship “.

The new plant will produce biocomparable medicines, that is, biotechnological generics such as vaccines and therapies against rheumatoid arthritis, among others. It will have the first line in Latin America equipped with insulator technology for the filling of vials with aseptic processes.

It is the first time that the reforestation campaign concludes with a celebration, the laboratory organized a picnic entertained by mariachis to celebrate the next opening of the plant and the 80th anniversary of its foundation.

Attendees tasted typical local dishes such as elotes, quesadillas and local stew tacos made by families from the State of Mexico, who received toys for children.

The campaign was coordinated by Reforestamos México A.C., who coordinated the reforestation brigades that planted pine trees on the premises of the new laboratory production plant.

Mexico City, August 13, 2018.- For the fourth consecutive time, Liomont Laboratories organized its annual 5K Health Together for Your Health career, which on this occasion marks the beginning of the commemorative activities that the pharmaceutical company has prepared to celebrate 80 years of its foundation.

During the morning of this Saturday, August 11, more than 200 employees, family members and a group of professional runners gathered at the San Francisco de Asís Park, located in the Cuajimalpa delegation.

The event was also attended by business partners, including representatives of Bacher Zoppi and Adecco, who encouraged the runners who competed in two categories: beginners and advanced in the male and female branches.

“For Laboratorios Liomont, its personnel is the greatest wealth, we have a solid commitment to improve the quality of life of our employees, the social and environmental environment of all those who collaborate in the company, it is for them that we have organized this career for four years” noted engineer Alfredo Rimoch, general director of Liomont Laboratories. ”

Together for your health, 5K is part of the laboratory’s initiatives to promote health and well-being in its employees, partners and community through physical activity.

For his part, Eduardo Fájer, director of human resources of Liomont, said that “the race was established four years ago as one of the actions to improve the quality of life of employees, a subject of vital importance that, through the program Together for your Health, offers advice on nutrition, medical consultations, laboratory tests and vaccination campaigns that impact the overall well-being of each employee. ”

On this occasion, some of the employees competed in groups of eight people, each of them ran a kilometer that symbolized each decade of lab work. The winners received a gift card and a commemorative medal of the 80th anniversary, which represents the symbol of infinity.

According to the Mexican health report, amebiasis is between the main 10 causes of mortality in children up to the age of 14, which signifies a public health problem that, linked to marginalization and poverty, it’s heightened.

Worried about the seriousness of this disease, Liomont Laboratories started, in 2012, an initiative launched by Mr. Samuel Rimoch called Comprehensive Program Against Amebiasis (PICA for its initials in Spanish), to offer free, respectable, opportune, complete and comprehensive health care to eradicate amebiasis.

Since its implementation, PICA has had great impact in several states across Mexico. Since 2002 to the date, Liomont Laboratories has donated around 640 thousand treatments. Only in 2017 there were 21,859 adult treatments and 21,680 pediatric treatments.

The objective for the present 2018, is delivering 23,000 adult treatments and 23,000 children treatments in different states of the country.

Liomont Laboratories and the CIMA program (Child Crusade for a Mexico without Asthma) joins this noble cause by donating treatments for patients with respiratory diseases such as asthma, rhinitis, respiratory infections, among others. Both the pediatric community and older adults are benefited since there are activities in the health area, the approximate number of people who attend is 1,000 in the medical area and 500 in the dental area.

On January 12 we held in the Municipality of Union Juárez Chiapas, one more action of our Child Crusade for a Mexico Without Asthma (CIMA); where in partnership with the DIF, we managed to provide medical care and treatment of respiratory diseases to more than 350 families, in three days of work. The main ailments were pharyngotonsillitis and otitis but we had the opportunity to detect some cases of children with asthmatic principles, mainly those in which at home they cook with firewood and are in direct contact with the smoke and vapors emanating from this activity. .

The communities that belong to the municipality and were benefited are, Talquian, Chiquihuites, Cordova Matazano, San Jose, Descent, Cerro del Carmen, Santo Domingo, Trinidad, April 11, El Desengaño, San Rafael, Nueva Esperanza, Eureka, Barrio Nuevo, The Alps, New Hope and Media Loma.

    Mexico City, April 26, 2018.- Fort the sixth consecutive year, Liomont Laboratories received the Great Place to Work (GPTW) award and the 42nd position on the list, after climbing 22 positions versus last year, thanks to its constant commitment to encourage policies and practices that improve the quality of life of all the collaborators of the company.

    This award, which has been held for 16 years, is a stimulus for students of public and private secondary schools across the country that generate projects for the preservation of the environment in their community, with the aim of promoting the importance of caring for nature. .

    “With this award, we seek to honor the memory of Amanda Rimoch, a woman committed to the planet by encouraging young people in Mexico to solve environmental problems and generate greater awareness of the environment and sustainability,” said Ms. Martha Sofía Yarza de Mingramm, president of the Junior League of Mexico City.

    In this edition, 80 projects were received. The three winning proposals received financial support to carry them out, improve their educational facilities and their environment.

    The judges evaluated different areas, among which several axes stand out, such as the integral management of solid waste, saving of electric energy and application of alternative energies, saving and efficient use of water, conservation of ecosystems, recovery and development of green areas, and community environmental actions that promote the culture of sustainability.

    The first place was for the Technical Secondary School 106 in Iztapalapa, Mexico City, with the project Greenhouse to produce inexhaustible supplies (hedera helix) for green walls at the technical secondary school 106, with the aim of reducing the cost of maintenance of fences. , improve the environmental conditions, learn from the cultivation of ivy and recover the habitat of the lizard.

    The school received $ 175 thousand pesos, $ 100 thousand for the development of the project and $ 75 thousand for the acquisition of resources for the benefit of the educational activity of the institution they represent.

    The second place received $ 120 thousand pesos, $ 80 thousand for the project and $ 40 thousand for the school. The Quetzalpapalotl (Mariposa sagrada in Nahuatl) project was in charge of Technical High School No. 80, located in Tláhuac, Mexico City. It seeks to recover green spaces that benefit butterflies and other pollinators by collecting rainwater and reusing water from sinks for irrigation.

    The third place was obtained by two schools: the Technical Secondary School No. 127 in Ocosingo, Chiapas with the project Solid waste management for the organic production of tomato in the greenhouse, in order to promote the culture of coexistence between man and his environment ; and the Technical Secondary School No. 84, in Culhuacán Coyoacán, Mexico City with the project Rediscovering and Protecting Our Environment: Water and Biodiversity, to promote ethical behavior in the school community and a responsible environmental culture.

    Both institutions received $ 60 thousand pesos, $ 40 thousand for the project and $ 20 thousand for their school.

    “We are sure that education is the basis for a social and cultural change, we have found that participating in projects of this nature fosters the development of skills within the community, teamwork, coexistence and a sense of belonging, factors fundamental for the integral development of young people, “said Eng. Alfredo Rimoch, president of the Liomont Foundation.

    This award also has the support of the General Directorate of Technical Secondary Education, under the direction of Maestro Manuel Salgado Cuevas, who each year motivates young people to participate with projects with which they feel identified and with which they find greater connection with their daily life.
