Since 1997, Liomont Foundation, in alliance with the Junior League, has held this contest with the sole object of raising awareness and encouraging Mexican high school students to participate in tangible solutions for the care and preservation of our natural environment through sustainable schemes.

Up to 2023 more than 1,738 students from high schools all over the country, public as well as private, have participated in the Amanda Rimoch Award for Environmental Education, out of which 53 have been awarded with different incentives that range from scholarships for further training or practices in environmental issues, as well as with economic stimuli to help them develop and carry out their projects. Thus, throughout 20 contests, more than 31,800 people have received support from these recognitions for their effort and dedication.
